Measure the inside width of the window recess at three points: top, middle, and bottom. Windows are rarely perfectly square, so this ensures accuracy.

Measure the inside height of the window recess from the top of the recess to the sill. Take measurements at the left side, center, and right side.

Measure the depth of the window recess from the front to the window glass. You need at least 50mm (2 inches) of depth for inside mounting.

Check for any handles, locks, or other obstructions that might interfere with the shutters operation. Measure their position and ensure the shutters will clear them when raised or lowered.

Measure the width of the area you want to cover. For best light blockage, add 100-150mm (4-6 inches) to each side of the window frame.

Measure from where you want to mount the brackets to where you want the shutter to end. Add 100mm (4 inches) above the window frame for mounting space and light blockage.

Ensure you have adequate wall space for mounting brackets. Check that there are no electrical wires or pipes behind the mounting area.

Always measure in millimeters for the most accurate results. It's the industry standard.

Fabric tapes can stretch and give inaccurate measurements. Always use a steel measuring tape.

Even if windows look identical, measure each one separately as sizes can vary.

Record all measurements clearly, labeling each window to avoid confusion.

Always double-check your measurements before ordering to ensure accuracy.

Window handles can obstruct blinds. Measure their projection from the window.
Now that you have your measurements, you're ready to order shutters that fit perfectly.
